Ethics CEUs for BCBAs

Every cycle includes 4 ethics CEUs. Fill all four tonight with courses worked from the current BACB Ethics Code, labeled Ethics on your certificate.

What ethics CEUs are

Ethics CEUs are continuing education focused on the BACB Ethics Code: the standards that govern consent, confidentiality, dual relationships, documentation, and professional conduct. Four of your 32 CEUs each cycle must be ethics.

The courses work from situations, not recitation. A parent sends you a friend request. A school asks for data you’re not sure you can share. A family wants to keep working with you after discharge. Each course takes cases like these through the Code section by section, so the answer you leave with is one you can defend in the moment.

What ABT’s ethics courses cover

  • The current Ethics Code worked through situations from ABA practice
  • Documentation and consent in everyday practice
  • Competing interests and knowing when to consult
  • The 2027 integrated-ethics changes

The 4-CEU minimum and the 2027 change

The four-ethics-CEU minimum doesn’t change in 2027. What changes is scope: the separate diversity CE requirement folds into integrated ethics content, so ethics courses will carry that material going forward. ABT’s ethics courses are being built to the integrated standard now, which means credits you earn here fit both the current cycle and the next one. The full 2027 summary.
