Supervision training and CEUs
Supervise RBTs, BCaBAs, or trainees? At least 3 of your CEUs each cycle are supervision CEUs, rising to 4 in 2027. Fill them here, clearly labeled.
The supervision requirement
Supervise anyone during your cycle and at least three CEUs must be supervision CEUs. For cycles ending in 2027 and later, that minimum rises to four. If you don’t supervise, these can be general learning CEUs instead.
The courses are built around the work itself. You’ll structure a feedback session and deliver it, plan a supervision meeting that fits in the hour you actually have, and document fieldwork the way the BACB expects to see it in an audit. What you practice in the course is what you run with your team the same week.
The 8-hour supervision training
Before supervising for the first time, behavior analysts complete a competency-based 8-hour supervision training. ABT’s course walks you through the structure, feedback, and documentation that training requires.
The 8-hour training and supervision CEUs are two different requirements, and search results routinely blur them. The 8-hour training is a one-time prerequisite before you supervise for the first time. Supervision CEUs are the ongoing 3 per cycle (4 from 2027) for as long as you keep supervising. New supervisors complete both; established supervisors only owe the cycle CEUs.
